If your Plate Content is assessed as not appropriate for issue, a change in order may be required or PPQ will cancel your order.

These terms and conditions are in addition to the statutory rights to which you may be entitled under the Australian Consumer Law and any other applicable consumer protection laws or regulations. Please also see our Manufacturer Warranty.
Except where required under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection laws or regulations, PPQ will not issue a refund if you cancel your order.
Prices & Payment
PPQ reserves the right to change the price of Plates from time to time without notice. Prices quoted are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of delivery anywhere in Australia (see 8. Rejection of Plate Orders and Commitment to Supply
Notwithstanding anything contained in these terms and conditions or elsewhere on the PPQ website, PPQ makes no representation or commitment to supply or resupply with respect to any chosen personalised plate combinations/designs until such time as the order has been correctly submitted to PPQ, payment finalised, and the order approved by Department of Transport and Main Roads. The Department of Transport and Main Roads reserves the right to withhold Plates from sale and reject or cancel orders (including remakes and listings on our resale noticeboard) at any time in its discretion and with regard to applicable laws and regulations, availability, legibility, visibility and other matters as set out below.
PPQ and the Department of Transport and Main Roads have absolute discretion in the approval and manufacture of Plates and have the right to stop manufacture of any Plates considered not appropriate for issue at any time after the Plate order process has been undertaken. The Department of Transport and Main Roads also has a statutory power to recall for exchange any inappropriate Plates that may be inadvertently issued. PPQ complies with strict guidelines from the Department of Transport and Main Roads and think it’s best to keep it clean and play nice on our roads. Plates likely to cause offence to a reasonable person.
Plates that may infringe a third party’s rights or constitute false or misleading representation or conduct.

If you are unsure of the appropriateness of the Content you are purchasing, please contact PPQ on 136 356 before purchasing.
Plate Orders submitted with Plate Content not considered appropriate for issue may attract a cancellation fee of $100 as well as a non-refundable credit card surcharge.
Use of Content
By submitting Content for use on a Plate you represent and warrant that:
You have the legal right to reproduce and distribute this Content and to grant the permissions herein. By providing PPQ with a copy of the Content you give PPQ, the Department of Transport and Main Roads and the plate manufacturer permission to reproduce, use and store this Content for the purposes of production, manufacture and supply of a Plate. The Content supplied, and use of the Content by PPQ, the Department of Transport and Main Roads and plate manufacturer, does not and will not infringe any third party’s rights including intellectual property rights and does not imply or falsely represent a connection with any third party business.
In respect of any Content relating to or owned by a company or business including a name, slogan, tag line, symbol, logo, image or any other content, you are the owner/director of the company or business, or you have obtained express consent from the company or business to use the company’s or business’ Content on the plate, and can supply a copy of this consent to PPQ. You are the owner of the Content (i.e. the Content is your original creation), or you have obtained express consent from the owner of the Content, including any trade mark, slogan, tag line, lyric, caption, catchphrase or other intellectual property within the Content, to use the said property on the Plate, and you can supply a copy of this consent to PPQ. You understand that your plate caption is not unique. Duplicate captions may be sold, unless your caption features trade mark Content (including a name, slogan or tag line, symbol, logo or image) relating to or owned by a company or business of which you are the owner/director.
Orders for Colour Plates with a caption are reviewed for appropriateness before the order is processed. You will be notified via email, within one working day, if your Plate Content is approved and PPQ will provide a secure payment link to progress your order. If your Plate Content is assessed as not appropriate for issue, a change in order may be required or PPQ will cancel your order.
At any time, PPQ may request proof of ownership of, or express consent from the owner of, the Content. All Plate designs are subject to approval by PPQ and the Department of Transport and Main Roads and may be rejected.
Ordering customised (retro) plates, remake/upgrades for attached plates, trailer plates
PPQ accepts orders for new business and for most types of remakes and upgrades. However, the following types of orders cannot be processed via ppq.com.au and must be processed by calling PPQ on 136 356, or by visiting a Department of Transport and Main Roads Customer Service Centre:
an order for a new, or a remake of a customised (retro) Plate;
an order for a remake or upgrade of a Plate to another type of vehicle where the original / existing Plate is still attached to the vehicle, and
an order for a remake or upgrade of a Plate from a motor vehicle to a trailer even where the original / existing Plate design remains the same and is not attached to the vehicle.
Ownership of Plates
Acquiring Plates gives the person to whom the plates are issued the right to use the Plates (by either keeping them without them being attached to a vehicle or attaching them to the corresponding vehicle in the correct manner).
You acknowledge you may use the physical Plates ‘as purchased’ from PPQ, for the purpose to which they were provided, and will not alter the original PPQ Plates or create or substitute for imitation plates. Creating an imitation plate is in breach of these Terms and Conditions, PPQ intellectual property rights and the Transport Operations (Road Use Management – Vehicle Registration) Regulation 2021 and may result in fines and other penalties.
You have the right to transfer the right to use the Plates to another person (subject to any relevant fee that may be imposed by the Department of Transport and Main Roads). Although acquisition of Plates gives the Primary Rights Holder, and if applicable, the Secondary Rights Holder the right to use the Plates, pursuant to the Transport Operations (Road Use Management - Vehicle Registration) Regulation 2021, at all times the Plates remain the property of the State of Queensland. In Queensland, it is possible to nominate a Secondary Rights Holder on Personalised Plates. This is completely optional and is relevant only if you require there to be an additional rights holder for the Plates. Any requests to remake, redesign, resell or enquire about the details of the Plates can only be made by you. Where a Secondary Rights Holder has been nominated, they have the right to request to remake, redesign, transfer, attach a plate to a vehicle or enquire about the details of the Plate upon the supply of evidence of your identity, and only with your approval. The details of the Secondary Rights Holder must be supplied for any activity associated with the Plates, including remakes and redesigns.
As a condition of acquiring a Plate, you hereby grant the State of Queensland and PPQ a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, sublicensable, worldwide and irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish and display such Plate, including the Content, in advertising, marketing and publicity material for PPQ in any media, without compensation, restriction on use, attribution or liability. You acknowledge that the issue of Personalised Number Plates comprising of a selected combination of characters does not preclude the Department of Transport and Main Roads from issuing a substantially similar combination, provided it is not wholly identical. The Department of Transport and Main Roads may recall Personalised Plates, including after a plate has been on-sold, if the Chief Executive reasonably believes the Content is (or becomes) indecent, obscene or unacceptable, or if otherwise permitted under applicable regulations. If you are unsure of the appropriateness of the Content you are purchasing, please contact PPQ on 136 356 before purchasing. If the Department of Transport and Main Roads recalls Personalised Plates in these circumstances, under applicable regulations the Department is only obliged to offer a replacement plate in exchange. The Department is not obliged to offer any other compensation.
Delivery of Plates
Plates are delivered via Australia Post Proof of Delivery Service. It is your responsibility to provide a correct delivery address. PPQ cannot be held responsible for any damaged, missing or delayed orders where incorrect or incomplete delivery details (address and, if relevant, appropriate delivery instructions) have been provided. It is your responsibility to match the description of the goods received with those ordered. PPQ should be notified of any goods arriving damaged or not meeting the description and they should be returned to PPQ for assessment by the manufacturer and/or Australia Post. Plates under investigation should not be attached to a vehicle.
Damaged, Lost, Destroyed or Stolen Plates
Pursuant to the Transport Operations (Road Use Management - Vehicle Registration) Regulation 2021, Plates that are damaged, lost, destroyed or stolen must be reported as such within 14 days after the registered operator discovers that they have been damaged, lost, destroyed or stolen. Failure to report may constitute an offence. Replacement of Plates will incur a remake fee.
Arrival of Plates
New Plates arrive with a Remove and/or Attach form. It is a Department of Transport and Main Roads Condition of Issue and Use, that this form must be processed before new Plates are attached to a vehicle. If standard issue plates are already on a vehicle they should be returned to the Department of Transport and Main Roads when submitting the Remove and/or Attach form.
When remaking, replacing or upgrading number plates, Departmental Regulations require your original Plates to be returned to a Department of Transport and Main Roads Customer Service Centre or Agency within 14 days of receiving new plates. All Plates come with a manufacturer warranty, see Manufacturer Warranty Terms.
PPQ's Liability
To the full extent permitted by law and except as otherwise provided herein, PPQ excludes all terms, conditions, representations or warranties express or implied. To the full extent permitted by law, PPQ excludes all liability for any loss or damage of any kind (including direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special or consequential damages) howsoever caused (including from negligence) which is suffered or incurred in connection with these terms and conditions, use of the PPQ website, the non-availability of Plates, any Plates supplied, the rejection of, or failure to receive, your order, any act or omission of PPQ, the provision of inaccurate or incomplete information provided by you or any breach of third party rights in connection with your Plate.
Without limitation to the foregoing, and to the full extent permitted by law, PPQ will not be liable for any consequences arising from unintended functionality related errors or technical glitches of whatsoever nature that may temporarily impact on the normal operation of the website generally, or the Create A Plate® selection/order processing on-line system in particular (including but not limited to the temporary acceptance of otherwise non-valid plate combinations and designs), and/or for any such errors or glitches caused by a user's attempt to manipulate, tamper with, or otherwise override the normal intended functioning of the Create A Plate® on-line system, including but not limited to any attempt to enter invalid Plate category and/or character combinations via the creation of multiple tab sessions, or by any other means.
Nothing in these terms and conditions limits, excludes or modifies any applicable consumer rights under the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001, the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable consumer protection laws and regulations, except where it is permitted legally to do so. If it is legally permitted to do so, then PPQ limits its liability to the following:
in the case of goods, one or more of the following at PPQ’s discretion:
the replacement of the goods or the supply of the equivalent goods;
the repair of the goods;
the payment of the cost of replacing the goods or of acquiring equivalent goods; or
the payment of having the goods repaired; and
in the case of services:
the supplying of the services again; or
the payment of the cost of having the services supplied again.
Indemnity
You indemnify and hold harmless PPQ, the Department of Transport and Main Roads, the plate manufacturer and their respective employees, officers, contractors and agents from and against any claim, loss, costs, damages or expenses arising out of or relating to the Plate or your order, including
any claims that any plate combination and/or Content infringes the rights of any third party;
a breach of these terms and conditions by you; or
any wilful, negligent or unlawful act or omission by you.
The items for sale are set out in the Schedule (“Lots”). For the avoidance of doubt, each Lot will consist of a right to use a specific combination of number or letters on a personalised number plate. The physical number plates themselves will remain the property of the State of Queensland in accordance with the Transport Operations (Road Use Management - Vehicle Registration) Regulation 2021.
This auction is conducted by Publicis Red Lion Pty Ltd as agent for the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, the operators of Personalised Plates Queensland ("PPQ").
Participation in this auction constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Information on Lots including minimum bids and reserve prices forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
The auction is only open to individuals aged 18 years and over who hold a valid Customer Reference Number (“CRN”) issued by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads.
PPQ may, at any time and in its reasonable discretion, conduct screening of bidders, including requesting additional documentation on a bidder’s ability to make payment or a bidder’s location. Only genuine bids and bidders with sufficient funds to purchase the item (at the highest amount that they choose to bid) will be accepted.
PPQ reserves the right to reject a request to bid or to cancel already approved bids in its sole discretion, acting reasonably, where it believes a breach of these Terms and Conditions has occurred.
PPQ’s decision regarding any aspect of this auction is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
To the extent permitted by law, PPQ shall not be responsible for any bid that is not processed due to technical problems or delays.
By making a bid, the bidder warrants that:
i. It/he/she has read and understands these Terms and Conditions;
ii. It/he/she has full authority to engage in the transaction;
iii. All information provided to PPQ is true and complete;
iv. Their bid is genuine and the bidder has sufficient funds to purchase and make payment for the item at the highest price they bid; and
v. It/he/she did not rely on any representations made by PPQ other than as made in these Terms and Conditions.
The auction for a Lot will commence and conclude on the times and dates set out in the Schedule, subject to any extension to bidding determined in accordance with clause 11. To bid on a Lot, the bidder must visit www.ppq.com.au and create an auction profile. A profile will only become verified and able to bid on Lots once it contains a first name, last name, postal address, email address, phone number, CRN, and payment authorisation details.
In the event a bid for a Lot is received within the refresh period for that Lot as set out in the Schedule (“Refresh Period”), the closing time will extend by an amount of time equivalent to the Refresh Period. This process will continue until there have been no further bids on a Lot for the Refresh Period, after which the auction for that Lot will conclude.
Bidding is to be made on a per-item basis and will only be increased by the bid increment amount stipulated by PPQ. Bid increments will increase based on the current bid for the lot and are as follows:
$50 increments for lots with current bids up to $1,000
$100 increments for lots with current bids from $1,001 to $5,000
$250 increments for lots with current bids from $5,001 to $15,000
$500 increments for lots above $15,001
The one (1) bidder who places the highest bid as at the end of the auction for each Lot will be deemed to be the winning bidder of that Lot (“Buyer”), subject to verification and subject to the Lot’s reserve price having been met. In the event more than one (1) bidder places the same highest bid on a Lot, the bidder who placed the highest bid first will be determined to be the highest bidder. The Buyer will immediately be charged a deposit for the Lot, as noted in the Schedule, using the pre-authorised banking details provided at the time of submitting a bid. PPQ will contact each Buyer within two (2) business days of the conclusion of the auction. The Buyer must remit the remainder of the payment to PPQ for the Buyer’s winning bid within seven (7) business days from being notified by PPQ (“Verification Process”).
If any Buyer cannot be contacted or payment is not made by the end of the Verification Process, without prejudice to any of its other accrued or contingent rights and subject to the applicable laws, PPQ may in its absolute discretion:
i. cancel any uncompleted contract with that Buyer, refund any deposit, and re-commence the auction for the affected Lot;
ii. cancel any uncompleted contract with that Buyer, refund any deposit, and enter into discussions with the next highest bidder for that Lot;
iii. charge that Buyer for, and the Buyer must indemnify PPQ from, all costs and expenses (including without limitation all legal costs and expenses) incurred by it resulting from the default or in taking action to enforce compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
In the event the reserve price for a Lot has not been reached, that Lot will be deemed as “passed in” and will not be awarded to any bidder. Any Lot that is passed in will be subject to further auction or otherwise offered for regular sale in the absolute discretion of PPQ.
Purchase of Lots is subject all times to the PPQ Sales Terms and Conditions which are available at https://www.ppq.com.au/terms-conditions#sales-terms-and-conditions.
Bidders accept full responsibility for their decision to participate in this auction and hold PPQ and its agents harmless from any loss, injury, damage, cost, liability or expense suffered or incurred by a bidder in connection with this auction or the Lot.
As a condition of accepting a Lot, a Buyer must sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by PPQ and its agents in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.
If for any reason a Buyer does not take a Lot at/by the time stipulated to them, then the Lot will be forfeited and will not be redeemable for cash.
No compensation will be payable or alternative item provided if a Buyer is unable to take a Lot as stated and provided.
Nothing in these terms limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under any similar consumer protection laws in Queensland and the other States and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”).
Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, PPQ (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the auction or the supply of a Lot (including but not limited to the Buyer’s or any other person’s assembly or acceptance/use of a Lot).
If this auction is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of PPQ, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, PPQ reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the auction, as appropriate.
To the extent permitted by law, PPQ is not responsible for any errors or omissions or for any warranties or guarantees either explicit or implied herein including the quality, safety, or legality of a Lot, the truth or accuracy of the listing or the ability to provide a Lot.
The personal information provided by bidders will be collected by and disclosed to PPQ. PPQ is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and its privacy policy which is located at https://www.ppq.com.au/privacy-policy.
No part of the content of this auction or associated pages (including photos, video, text, design) may be used without the written permission of PPQ or the appropriate licence holders.
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Queensland, Australia. Bidders irrevocably and unconditionally agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland, Australia. If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of law, such invalidity or unenforceability will not affect the remainder of the terms and conditions that will continue to have full force and effect
Item 1 - Parties to the Layby Agreement
This agreement is between Publicis Red Lion Pty Ltd and the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads ("PPQ"), and the person who has initiated this Layby Agreement (“you”, “Layby Contact”). The Layby Contact is at all times, the only party to the Layby Agreement, responsible for Layby payments, compliance with the Layby Agreement, and liable for any breach of the Layby Agreement. Any requests to change the plate details, request Layby status information, transfer the right to the plate to another person or cancel the Layby can only be made by the Layby Contact. The Layby Contact may nominate a Primary Rights Holder, and if applicable a Secondary Rights Holder to have the right to use the plates, who may be you or a third party.
Item 2 - How and when your product is purchased
Once your Layby has been initialised by a PPQ team member and a deposit has been received by PPQ, this Layby Agreement covers you with respect to your chosen personalised plates.
Notwithstanding anything contained in these terms and conditions or elsewhere on the PPQ website, PPQ makes no representation or commitment to supply with respect to any chosen personalised plate combination until such time as the application has been correctly submitted to PPQ, payment finalised, and the order approved by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
It is a condition of this Layby Agreement, that the right to a personalised plate cannot be sold to any third party, until such time as the Layby is finalised and the right to the plate resides with you. Any breach of this provision will result in termination of the Layby Agreement by PPQ, and the conditions outlined in Item 6 will apply. In the case of a breach of this provision, PPQ is under no obligation to sell the plate or transfer the right to the plate to the third party
Item 3 - Commencement and completion dates
The commencement date of this Layby Agreement is the date a deposit is received by PPQ. A deposit must be received within seven (7) days of the Layby being initialised or the Layby application will be cancelled. The finalisation date for completing the Layby is no later than four (4) months for total order amounts of up to $1700, and seven (7) months for orders in excess of $1700.

Item 6 – Termination charge
If you decide you do not wish to proceed with your purchase and cancel the Layby at any time before the personalised plates are manufactured or if the Layby Agreement is terminated by PPQ, a termination charge of $100 will be deducted from monies paid towards the Layby. This termination charge of $100 is a genuine pre-estimate of the costs to process a terminated Layby Agreement and incorporates system transaction costs, business administration costs, merchant charges and cancellation processing costs. The balance of monies received will be refunded directly to the credit card used to establish the Layby.
Item 7 - Failure to pay an installment payment
In the event you fail to meet any one of the payments detailed in Item 5, or if a cheque is dishonoured when presented for payment, the Layby Agreement may be terminated at the discretion of PPQ. Any bank fees or charges incurred by dishonoured payments will be charged to the Layby contact outlined in Item 1 and form part of the termination charge where the Layby Agreement is cancelled or terminated. If this should occur and the Layby Agreement is terminated, the conditions outlined in Item 6 will apply.
Item 8 - Failure to complete
In the event you fail to complete all payments by the period detailed in Item 3, the Layby Agreement may be terminated at the discretion of PPQ. If this should occur and the Layby Agreement is terminated, the conditions outlined in Item 6 will apply.
Item 9 - General conditions
All personalised plate manufacturing orders are subject to PPQ's Delivery Policy. PPQ and the Department of Transport and Main Roads have absolute discretion in the manufacture of personalised plates and have the right to stop manufacture or recall any personalised plates considered inappropriate or offensive at any time after the personalised plate order process has been undertaken. Pursuant to the Transport Operations (Road Use Management - Vehicle Registration) Regulation 2021 (QLD), acquiring personalised plates gives the Primary Rights Holder, and if applicable, the Secondary Rights Holder the right to use the personalised plates (by either keeping them without them being attached to a vehicle or attaching them to a vehicle in the correct manner). You have the right to transfer the right to use the personalised plates to another person (once you have finalised the Layby under Item 2 and subject to any relevant fee that may be imposed by the Department of Transport and Main Roads. PPQ reserves the right to terminate this Agreement in the event of any breach of this Agreement or illegal conduct by you, or otherwise as permitted under the Australian Consumer Law. The Australian Consumer Law (ACL) provides consumers with guarantees that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. The Layby Agreement does not affect any rights you have under the ACL or any other legal rights which cannot be excluded or modified. However, to the extent permitted by the ACL and subject to any other legal restriction, PPQ excludes any terms, conditions, warranties, guarantees or other liability that may apply to PPQ in respect of the Layby Agreement or anything done under it. For services other than services of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption, PPQ limits its liability, as permitted by the ACL, at its option, to the re-supply of the services or the payment of the cost of having the services supplied again. Unless you acquire anything under the Layby Agreement as an individual and wholly or predominantly for personal, domestic or household use or consumption and PPQ cannot exclude liability, then PPQ is not liable for any loss or damage, including any indirect, special, consequential or economic loss or damage, whether or not arising from default or negligence by PPQ or its employees, agents or contractors.
By ordering a business or custom branded plate design ("Plate/s") and ordering a Plate you agree to the following terms and conditions, which apply in addition to the general plate terms and conditions. Please do not proceed to purchase your Plate until you have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions.
A plate enquiry can be submitted via ppq.com.au/business or ppq.com.au/community, via email, by phone or in person at the PPQ office, Level 2, 99 Melbourne Street, South Brisbane Qld 4101.
Once an enquiry has been submitted a PPQ representative will respond within 2-3 business days with pricing, design options if possible and general information.
There is no obligation to purchase from the enquiry. An enquiry does not necessitate an obligation to purchase.
Upon confirmation of a branded plate design, payment is required for Artwork generated.
When the artwork fee has been received, either by credit card, cheque or money order, EFTPOS or cash, the design specifications are submitted to the plate manufacturer and an artwork approval form is requested. The artwork approval is designed to scale and will include all of the branding specifications, the colouring of the Plate and placement of the logo.
You are required to sign the artwork approval in two places, under the section:
“Important” acknowledging and accepting the image of the design could be slightly different to the final manufactured product.
In the Customer section “Art Proof Approval” acknowledging that the design is correct. This approval needs to be signed and a Colour scan forwarded onto the dedicated account manager by email, fax, post or in person.
Once you have approved the design, an approval from the Department of Transport and Main Roads is required. No plates may be ordered without the Department’s prior approval.
You can set parameters in place, in line with Department regulations, to ensure Plates are printed within their brand guidelines e.g. set combinations, who can purchase the Plate design or sizing.
Business or Custom Branded plate artwork fee is $385 including GST, this amount covers all design costs, legalisation of the Plate design with Queensland Police and the Department of Transport and Main Roads and the creation of the design. This allows a Plate to be purchased with custom branding. Once an artwork has been created a plate fee will also apply, PPQ reserves the right to change the price of Plates from time to time without notice. Prices quoted are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of delivery anywhere in Australia (see Delivery Policy). Price does not include any other fees, taxes, duties and charges that may be imposed. GST applies to artwork fee, Plate fees are GST exempt.
By submitting a copy of an image and/or logo or other content (“Content”) for use on a business or custom branded Plate you represent and warrant that:
You have the legal right to reproduce and distribute this Content and to grant the permissions herein. By providing PPQ with a copy of the Content you give PPQ and the plate manufacturer permission to reproduce, use and store this Content for the purposes of production, manufacture and supply of a Queensland business or custom branded Plate.
The Content supplied does not infringe any third party’s rights including intellectual property rights.
In respect of any Content relating to or owned by a company or business including a name, slogan, logo or image (“Business Content”), you are the owner/director of the company or business, or you have obtained express consent from the company or business to use the Company Content on the plate.
You are the owner of, or you have obtained express consent from the owner of, any image, photograph, character, trade mark or other intellectual property within the Content to use the said property on the Plate.
In respect of any person featuring in an image, you are the person depicted in the image or you have obtained express consent from the person featured to use the image on the Plate.
Use of the Content by PPQ and the plate manufacturer in accordance with these terms and conditions will not infringe any other third party’s rights including intellectual property rights.
At any time PPQ may request proof of ownership or express consent from the owner. All Plate designs are subject to the approval by PPQ and The Department of Transport and Main Roads and may be rejected.
PPQ reserves the right to automatically cancel a Plate order if payment is not promptly received once the order is submitted. PPQ and the Department of Transport and Main Roads have absolute discretion in the manufacture of Plates and have the right to stop manufacture or recall any Plates considered inappropriate or offensive at any time after the Plate order process has been undertaken.
We comply with strict guidelines from the Department of Transport and Main Roads and we think it’s best to keep it clean and play nice on our roads. A personalised plate is an official form of identification so every combination must be assessed against a number of criteria.
"Unacceptable" plates include:
Obscene or indecent combinations
Plates promoting unsafe, violent or harmful behaviour
Plates that are discriminatory, or could offend members or citizens of a distinct culture or a particular religion; nation; race; or minority status
Plates that could be considered offensive to Government Departments
Plates including content that may be defamatory, in breach of any laws, regulations, rules, codes or third party rights or otherwise objectionable in the absolute discretion of PPQ
If you are unsure of the appropriateness of the combination you are purchasing, please contact PPQ on 136 356 before purchasing.
These terms and conditions are in addition to the statutory rights to which you may be entitled under the Australian Consumer Law and any other applicable consumer protection laws or regulations. Any limitations in these terms and conditions on our liability, or on your right to return and obtain a refund for goods and services as set out herein, are subject always to your statutory rights under these laws. Please also see our Business Plates Manufacturer Warranty, set out below.
Except where required under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection laws or regulations, PPQ will not issue a refund of any artwork fee or Plate fee paid to date, if you cancel your order.
Pursuant to the Transport Operations (Road Use Management - Vehicle Registration) Regulation 2021 (QLD), acquiring Plates gives you the right to use the Plates (by either keeping them without them being attached to a vehicle or attaching them to the corresponding vehicle in the correct manner). The right to use the Plates also includes the right to transfer the right to use the Plates to another person (subject to any relevant fee that may be imposed by Department of Transport and Main Roads). Although acquisition of Plates gives you the right to use the Plates, pursuant to the Transport Operations (Road Use Management - Vehicle Registration) Regulation 2021 (QLD), at all times the Plates remain the property of the State of Queensland.
As a condition of acquiring a Plate, you hereby grant the State of Queensland and PPQ a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide and irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish and display such Plate in advertising, marketing and publicity material for PPQ in any media, without compensation, restriction on use, attribution or liability. Plates are delivered within three (3) weeks of receiving the plate payment. PPQ should be notified of any goods arriving damaged or not meeting the description; and they should be returned to PPQ for assessment by the manufacturer and/or Australia Post. Plates under investigation should not be attached to a vehicle.
New Plates arrive with a Remove and/or Attach form. It is a Department of Transport and Main Roads Conditions of Issue and Use, that this form must be processed before new Plates are attached to a vehicle. If standard issue plates are already on a vehicle they should be returned to the Department of Transport and Main Roads when submitting the Remove and/or Attach form.
When remaking, replacing or upgrading number plates, Departmental regulations require your original plates must be returned to a Department of Transport and Main Roads Customer Service Centre or Agency within 14 days of receiving new plates.
Pursuant to the Transport Operations (Road Use Management - Vehicle Registration) Regulation 2021 (QLD), Plates that are damaged, lost, destroyed or stolen must be reported as such within 14 days after the registered operator discovers that they have been damaged, lost, destroyed or stolen. Failure to report may constitute an offence. Replacement of Plates will incur a remake free.

The rights set out in this warranty section are in addition to any rights and remedies you may have as a consumer under relevant law including the Australian Consumer Law, to the extent they may apply to you. Goods and services come with certain guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For example you may be entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) retains ownership of plates issued at all times, pursuant to the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 and the Transport Operations (Road Use Management – Vehicle Registration) Regulation 2021. When you are issued with personalised plates you receive the right to keep these plates or attach them to your vehicle (with the prior written permission of TMR). These number plates are manufactured in accordance with TMR’s specifications using quality materials, and are guaranteed for a period of seven (7) years from issue, against faulty material and workmanship by the manufacturer. This warranty does not cover:
Physical damage or deterioration of general appearance due to factors that do not constitute normal exposure; or
Normal fading of colours over time, provided that the fading does not cause the plate to become less than clearly legible.
Warranty claims about the plates can be made by surrendering the number plates to any TMR Customer Service Centre or Queensland Government Agency Program (QGAP) office, and submitting a number plate replacement application. If the personalised plates were lawfully attached to a motor vehicle, a new set of standard issue number plates will need to be issued by TMR, on payment of the appropriate fees, for use on the vehicle while the warranty claim is being processed and considered; the cost of these replacement plates will be refunded when they are returned, if the claim made regarding the original plates under this warranty is found to be valid.
Plates will be forwarded by TMR to the manufacturer for evaluation and the right is reserved to subject reported failures to appropriate testing before accepting responsibility for manufacturing or materials failure.
If the claim under this warranty is found to be valid, TMR will repair or replace the plates (as applicable in the circumstances) at no further cost to you, to an acceptable standard.

These plates should be fitted to a flat surface using 5mm fasteners into the four (4) corner holes. Vehicle type and use may require additional/larger fasteners. Over tightening the fasteners or excessive vibration may reduce the life of the plate and void the warranty.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads does not approve the use of number plate covers (excepting those issued by Personalised Plates Queensland for Prestige Plates). Use of some products/covers may reduce plate visibility, useable life or warranty and may result in fines and penalties.

Due to the many mounting variations offered by European car manufacturers, these plates have been produced without mounting holes. This allows you to Position the hole to suit your vehicle.
To mark the position of the holes prior to drilling, you may wish to use the back of the plates carton as a template. The drilling of holes and affixing of screws or bolts must not alter the appearance of the number plate in such a way that affects the identification of the registration number.
If desired, most motor dealers and vehicle repairers will be able to attach your new plates for a nominal fee.

All required holes must be slow drilled from the back of the plate starting with a smaller drill bit to create a pilot hole (approx. half size of finished hole) and then a larger drill bit to create the required final hole size.
The finished hole size must be slightly larger than the screw size to allow for thermal expansion. Ensure the drill bits are sharp and do not apply excessive pressure. Use a pedestal drill and ensure plate is adequately supported while drilling.
The use of double sided tape to attach the plate is not recommended and will void the warranty of your plates and damage the paint on your vehicle. The drilling of holes and affixing of screws or bolts must not alter the appearance of the number plate in such a way that affects the identification of the registration number. Removal of the white film applied to the back of the plate will void the manufacturer’s warranty.
For assistance with fitment you may need to contact your motor dealer or suitable qualified trades person. If desired, most motor dealers and vehicle repairers will be able to attach your new plates for a nominal fee.
Wash regularly with a soft cloth or sponge, using detergent and water. DO NOT use solvents, solvent based cleaners or abrasive cleaners and materials. If you have Framed Prestige Plates, Make sure to regularly retighten your grub screws to ensure that the plate doesn't become loose overtime.

Please note: Prestige Personalised Plates are made of a special tough layered perspex material specifically designed for licence plates, sealed within an anodised aluminium frame. The Prestige Personalised plate is made up of two (2) components: the plate and the bracket (please refer to the Prestige Plate Assembly guide). Under no circumstances are the plates to be removed from the aluminium frame. This will immediately void the warranty.
The 'Prestige Plate Assembly' consists of a mounting bracket and a Prestige Plate. Attaching your Prestige Plate to the vehicle with the mounting bracket offers advantages over standard aluminium plates by allowing vertical adjustments of its position to maximise air intake flow/aerodynamics and aesthetics. These factors should be considered when positioning your plate on the vehicle. Queensland legislative requirements regarding positioning of number plates on a vehicle must be observed.

Before attaching to the vehicle, position your Prestige Plates, with the attached mounting bracket, on the vehicle to ensure alternative brackets are not required (stand-off type). A different mounting method may be required if there is a substantial curve or restrictive recess in the vehicle’s design.
Separate the mounting bracket from your Prestige Plate by loosening the three grub screws (located on the bottom edge of the frame) with the Allen key provided. With the plate facing down, remove the mounting bracket by lifting out the bottom section of the bracket first. NB, the top section cannot lift up as it slides in.
Hold the mounting bracket in its desired position on the vehicle and attach it securely through the slots provided with two screws and washers (NB, the screws and washers are not provided. You will need to purchase these items. The combined screw head height and washer thickness should not exceed 4mm to ensure they fit between the plate and the mounting bracket).
Insert the top lip at the back of your Prestige Plate into the slot at the top of the mounting bracket. Your plate should now hang from the bracket and the bottom lip of the bracket should be aligned with the slot in the bottom of the plate frame.
Push the bottom lip section of the mounting bracket into the plate frame. You should hear a click.
Re-tighten the grub screws to firmly hold the assembly together.
